In French cuisine, where precision and elegance intertwine, a long list of ingredients is often expected to create a delicious dessert.

However, you can surprise your palate with an extraordinary dessert using just two apples, a cup of milk , and a few other common ingredients.

In this article, we’ll explore the culinary magic of a French dessert that combines the freshness of apples with the creaminess of milk, enhanced with ingredients that will transform your dessert into an irresistible delicacy.

Ingredients:

  • 2 apples (sweet varieties)
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 100 grams of flour
  • 20 grams of oil (preferably neutral seed oil)
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • A pinch of cinnamon

Procedure:

  1. Preparing the apples: Start by peeling and cutting the apples into cubes or thin slices, depending on your preference. Set them aside for now.
  2. Prepare the applesauce: In a nonstick pan, cook the apples with a teaspoon of sugar and a pinch of cinnamon until they are tender and release their juices. Mash the apples with a fork to create a thick, aromatic sauce.
  3. Prepare the dough: In a bowl, mix the flour and eggs until smooth. Add the oil and milk, continuing to mix until the dough is smooth and free of lumps.
  4. Combine apples and batter: Fold the applesauce into the batter, stirring gently to ensure the ingredients are thoroughly combined. The combination of sweet apples and batter will create a rich and flavorful base for your dessert.
  5. Bake: Pour the batter into a previously greased baking pan and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 25-30 minutes, or until the surface is golden brown and the cake is cooked through. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick: if it comes out clean, the cake is ready.
