Rosemary is an indispensable plant in our kitchens. Not only is it an important ingredient in a myriad of traditional dishes, but it is also rich in therapeutic properties and health benefits.
This wonderful aromatic plant can be grown at home in ordinary pots. A few simple steps are all it takes to have a lush and fragrant rosemary plant , and we’ll list them below.
Rosemary is a very hardy plant that can tolerate a variety of climates. It can be grown from seeds or cuttings.
Get cuttings about 8 centimeters long, preferably taken in early summer. Choose healthy, green pieces, preferably from a thriving plant.
Fill a pot with all-purpose potting soil, but add a few stones to improve drainage. Good drainage, which prevents waterlogging, is very important for rosemary.
Place the rosemary pot in a well-lit location throughout the day. It can be planted both indoors and outdoors: it’s a plant that adapts easily to any setting, but it’s important to ensure it receives the right amount of light.
Water rosemary only when its soil is completely dry. During the warmer months, you can water more frequently, but it’s essential to avoid standing water, which can cause root rot.
The plant will take a few months to grow and become lush. To use it, simply cut sprigs about 7-8 cm long, starting from the tips of the stems and making sure to leave some needles at the base of the remaining sprig on the plant.
